Simply Spray Review & Giveaway

Or, How I fail at DIY

Have you ever had a DIY fail horribly? I saw someone somewhere in bloggyland do a re-paint of a chair using upholstery paint from Simply Spray and I thought, hey, I can do that. I had a hideous chair and I hated the color and thought I could paint it and all would be well. So I contacted Simply Spray and they very sweetly sent me three different types of paint : upholstery paint, stencil paint, and fabric paint. I thought this'll be easy. Pshaw. Pshaw I say.

So they sent me a can of upholstery paint in gray. As soon as I got the can, I realized one thing. This was a ginormous chair, and that is a small can of spray paint. No worries I said. I'll just spray one part of the chair for now, then go out and buy more. It'll be great. Yea not so much. The paint went on beautifully. Easy to coat, no hiccups, lovely gray color. Then I set it out to dry. This is completely not the paints fault, it is my fault. Beige + Gray = yuck. I should have gone with a deeper color that would have completely hidden the beige.Using the spray was great. It comes out evenly with minimal effort, and had I done my homework, this product would have worked absolutely perfectly.

I kind of gave up on my crafty DIY goddess at that point. I still had the other paints to review, so I decided that CJ was going to do an art project!

Sorry for the long story, but that is how CJ got to do his own tie-dye shirt painting. I used clothespins to pin the shirt to the fence. Then I showed CJ how to spray, and I let him go to town. CJ thinks it is the prettiest shirt he owns. Whenever he sees it he says "Me!" remembering that he painted it.

I wasn't worried about the paint being dangerous, because Simply Spray is non-toxic, non-flammable, and odorless. It is eco-friendly and it doesn't stiffen or harden after it is dried. You can find Simply Spray at your local craft store, or online at SprayPaint4Fabric. You can also connect directly with Simply Spray on facebook and on their webpage. You can even catch some videos of the paint in use on youtube.

If you would like to get a few bottles of Simply Spray to try yourself (and hopefully not have a DIY fail like me), you are in luck. Simply Spray is offering one of my readers a bottle of each, 1 upholstery spray, 1 stencil spray, and 1 fabric spray. To enter, just fill out the rafflecopter below.
