Mercy House Kenya

As I've mentioned before on this blog, my best friend was born in Kenya and came over to the US when we were in the 3rd grade. Her family are some of the warmest, most amazing people I've ever met. Her mom especially just blows my mind with how beautiful a person she is. Her brother Evans blows my mind with how much of a pain in my butt he generally is when he sees me, but I love him anyway. (He's also about to be a daddy to twins so yay!!)

Having grown up with these amazing people around me, Kenya has a huge place in my heart. So when I read this article over at We Are That Family, I knew I had to share. Kristen is the founder of Mercy House, a home for young girls in Kenya who are homeless and pregnant. Mercy House provides a home for the girls (many of whom are under 18), pre-natal care and nutrition, and teaches work skills. You can even buy some of their work right on there website, at the shop.

During this time of year, when our hearts are already in the spirit of giving, let's help out these girls. There are many ways you can help, the most important of which is to pray.  I plan on finding a way to become more involved with this organization, and I hope you can too. Pin It
