Fun Meme Friday!

1. What's the last thing you spent too much money on?
My husband's stupid car. I told him we needed a new one, but he said that this time, the cost to fix it won't be that high. $1200 later.... I hate that car.

2. What celeb chef would you want to make you dinner?
Tony Bourdain. My husband is obsessed and Tony Bourdain is probably the only chef that Craig wouldn't dare criticize. Plus he's entertaining.

3. Where do you hide things when visitors pop over or do you let them see the real deal?
I hide stuff, especially if it is one of my brothers-in-law coming over who is a giant neat freak. When he comes in the door, I can almost feel him start to hyperventilate.

4. Who is your oldest living family member?
My great-nana is almost 90. I lost my other great-grandmother in April, she was in her early 90s.

5. What is your favorite DQ treat and/or Sonic drink combo (ie: cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper)?
Cherry Limeade. Yum. I'm not allowed to have it in the car after the Cherry Limeade incident of 09.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want with you?
Pastene pepperoncinis, chocolate milk (purely for the calcium of course), and my baby (provided that the island is safe).

What is one book everyone should read?
Harry Potter, obviously.

If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?
The ability to fly. Again, obviously.

Harry Potter or Twilight?
How is this even a question?!?!? Harry Potter!

Gum or breath mints?
Gum please. Thank you.

Question : In light of 11/11/11 and Veteran's Day, tell us about your favorite soldier and how he or she is saving the world. Fictional or real life.

Am I allowed to say myself? Just kidding, although I do think I am a pretty awesome veteran. I attended a military academy, and served in the Army, so pretty much everyone I know is or has been in the military. It's hard to pick just one who is especially awesome. But I'll mention a few.

First up is my best friend, US Army CPT Silvia Jemutai. She deployed last year to Afghanistan and is now stationed in Kentucky. She actually became an American citizen just so that she could commission in the Army. Her hobbies include pinching me and breaking her leg while dancing. See picture. You rock CPT Jemutai!
To everyone I was lucky enough to serve with. From those of you at Basic Training in Fort Jackson, to AIT in Fort Sam Houston, to 121 Combat Support Hospital in Yongsan South Korea, and finally Charlie Company, 201st Brigade Support Battalian, 1st Infantry Division. The last group, Charlie 201st, are currently saving lives somewhere in Afghanistan. I love and miss you guys (most of you anyway). Come home safe!

To all my relatives who have served. My Uncle Jamie, Aunt Theresa, Great Grampy Giddinge, Grampy Noble, Grampy Giddinge, Uncle Al. Love you all and I appreciate all your sacrifices. When I was in basic, I always said that they didn't make soldiers like they used to. I still think this is true, and I want to thank all of those veterans who served even when they didn't have a choice, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
On a lighter, less depressing note. Let me give a shout out to my favorite fictional military man. Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett. Yum. Yum. Yum.
